NOT!
I set out to try something different for my Christmas baking this year and found these disgustingly cute little cake pops. Yes, you heard me right. Cake. On a stick. Dipped in chocolate. Bliss, right? Not right. Oh don’t get me wrong, these little suckers are super yummy but never have I had such a problem with baking something. Insanity. And the lady I saw make them, Bakerella, does them so cute and in little shapes and on and on and on…and on. And on. I’m sure it’s more to do with the maker (i.e. me) than the recipe whatever but man, mine look so lame compared to hers. So lame.
Tonight, my 3rd night working on them, I have FINALLY finished making every last stinking adorable one (at nearly 2am!) and I (at my Mum’s request) decided to take a couple photos to prove I really did try to make these and failed miserably. I discovered how therapeutic my photography can be…
be warned, what follow are photos taken by a person driven to the brink of insanity by chocolate, lack of sleep and CHOCOLATE!
Hmmm…those look…ummm…lumpy?

Do these look like I used my fingers to roll these? Yeah. I did. Bah!

Awww…how sweet

They don’t look too bad…

They ARE kinda cute…

DON’T BE FOOLED! They are evil!

Don’t let them lure you in…make you think they are sweet and cute and uuughgggghhhh!
My counter…the aftermath.

My frustrated stare…

Emotions ran high.

Giving these things a good “talkin’ to”

My plan of revenge hits me!

Come to me my pretty… I won’t hurt you…

…MUCH!

Nom, nom, nom!

Now back to my “happy place” where there is never any chocolate. Especially on cake. Rolled into balls. On lollipop sticks. Dipped in chocolate. What was I thinking? It’s back to sugar cookies next year people.

BBWWWWAAAAHA HAAAAHAAAHAAAAA HAAAAA….Good job, Tan!!! The photos make it all worth it. 2:30, though, was just TOO late to be staying up for these little suckers. Aren’t you going to decorate them?? (Ha ha…sorry, couldn’t resist!!)
Loved the photos – gotta love those little remotes, eh? You really captured your insanity, not to mention their deceiving and conniving cuteness. How did you make them red? Can you buy red chocolate or did you colour white chocolate?? Maybe the better question – why did you make them red? Didn’t have enough problems with plain chocolate?
As for me and my house, I will never melt chocolate again…at least not for another year, and I’m not sure I will then either. This year was my chocolate nightmare. I really should have been there with you, given my disgust with it last week…we would have had a few good laughs, if nothing else. And it might have ended with a food fight, which would have been fun. I wouldn’t have had the patience you had – looking at them with their prim and proper sticks waving in your face – I would have thrown them against a wall, I think!
Love you! (thanks for posting!)
hahahaha – I agree with Mum, these pictures made this post! They (whoever “they” are) say that a picture is worth a 1000 words and that is so the truth, this post just wouldn’t have been as good without the pictures! LOL!
I want to know too…how did you make them red? They sure look cute once they are on the sticks!
I love your face expressions in these photos, I can tell that it was late (or early!) LOL!
You are so cute! Love you Sister…make sure you take pictures of the kids enjoying these as it is probably the first and last year they get them. Haha
Love you!

If only I had known Tanya! I would have warned you away! Next time you have the urge, just call Jaylene. She LOVES making them, and does so quite often, with all of the shapes and the sparkles. Again, I am sorry that I was not fast enough to warn you! I hope they at least tasted good!
ROTFL!!!
Tanya you are hilarious! Even more so at 2 in the morning! The treats turned out great though! I agree with your mom and sister, the photos add so much to the post. Good for you.
Baaaahahahahahahaha! Those are some pretty disturbing pictures of you devouring the chocolate Tanya..funny, but disturbing, LMBO! Looks like you had a GREAT time:) I wish I could have been there with you…it would have been quite a funny thing to witness..lol
Love you!!
oh tan!! i think i wet my pants a little bit!! that was hilarious!! the frustrated stare was what got me. oh my sides hurt!!
LOL….Tanya, I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time, you’re hilarious!!!!
AHAHAAAAAAAAA! Oh my – tears are coming! I needed that this morning – thank you for sharing your misery!
Cute. But why the trouble with them? I don’t usually have any problems with them.
