Today I ran. Hooray me! I started running again just two weeks after Sophia was born but after a couple of runs my body let me know that it was too soon and I stopped. I planned to start up again in a couple of weeks and that never happened. Then it got cold. Really cold. So here I am, about three months later and still I haven’t started up again.
I’ve been telling myself that I would start this week, so today I decided to head out before church to the Running Room and join the group for the practice run.
I knew that the running clinics just started so I planned to join the “Learn to Run” group and run 1:1’s with them (running 1 minute, walking 1 minute)
When I got there none of the other “Learn to Run” people showed up, so it was just the 5km and the ultra-marathon groups. *Crazy side note: the ultra-marathon group is training for a 100Km run!!! 100KM!!!* So I ran with instructor and another lady doing the 5km. I was a little nervous when she told me they were running 7:1’s….I just told her I’d try and see what happened. With some encouragement from these two ladies I ran the whole thing!! Four sets of 7:1’s!! Wooohoo! I am so proud of myself! I never dreamed I could run that on my first time back out. I’m going to sign up for the 5KM clinic again to help me get back on track. Yeah for running!
